With the continuous progress of high-quality joint construction of the the Belt and Road, China Sri Lanka practical cooperation has been deepening. Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Palita Kohona said a few days ago that the the Belt and Road Initiative is aimed at achieving common prosperity. As an important project for China and Sri Lanka to jointly build the the Belt and Road, Colombo Port City and Hambantota International Port will promote the economic development and improvement of people's livelihood of Economy of Sri Lanka, and boost the modernization process of Sri Lanka. He said that he expected the two countries to jointly build the the Belt and Road cooperation to achieve more results.

2023 is the tenth anniversary of the the Belt and Road Initiative, and Sri Lanka is an important country along the the Belt and Road. Palita Kohona said that over time, the Belt and Road Initiative is becoming more and more perfect. Taking Sri Lanka as an example, although the topic of debt has a significant impact, in fact, only about 10% of Sri Lanka's debt comes from China. The construction of ports and highways by Chinese enterprises in Sri Lanka will bring positive social and economic benefits, and is highly anticipated.

Palita Kohona said: Developing bilateral relations between the two countries is my responsibility. Not only between countries, but also between people and businesses. The friendly relationship between Sri Lanka and China has a solid foundation, and we need to further promote Chinese enterprises to expand trade exchanges and invest in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka needs to ensure to Chinese companies that it provides a safe environment for investors, welcomes them, and will protect them. The Sri Lankan government has provided these guarantees, and the mission of the embassy in China is to convincingly convey this information to potential investors - not only Chinese investors, but also investors from around the world.Editor/Ma Xue
