On July 8, 2023, the three million kilowatt national new energy bases in Urumqi, Qinghai Delingha and Mulei, Xinjiang, invested and constructed by China Huadian Corporation, have been fully put into operation for power generation, with a total installed capacity of 3.05 million kilowatts, generating 7.5 billion kilowatt hours of green power annually. Compared with coal-fired power plants of the same scale, they can reduce 6 million tons of carbon dioxide and save 2.3 million tons of standard coal annually. At the same time, there are also 4 new energy projects and 2 major supporting power projects put into operation together, with a total installed capacity of 8.96 million kilowatts in 9 projects. So far, the installed capacity of China Huadian Power has exceeded the 200 million kilowatts mark, which is 8 times the amount when it was restructured and established in 2002. Clean energy accounts for 48.35%.

In China Huadian's 2023 investment plan, new energy infrastructure investment accounts for 70%, and multiple large clean energy bases will gradually become effective. By 2025, China Huadian will strive to achieve more than 50% of the installed capacity of non fossil energy and build several 10 million Kilopower large-scale green energy bases.

Changlu Saltern in Binhai, Tianjin, has rows of blue photovoltaic modules laid on the water surface, which can generate green power continuously. At the same time, it can also sun salt on the water surface and breed underwater, realizing three uses of one place, and greatly improving the output value per unit area.

Huadian Tianjin Haijing 1 million kilowatt salt light complementary photovoltaic project is the largest single unit in the world, covering an area of 20000 acres, equivalent to 1868 football fields. It can provide 1.5 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.25 million tons, and can meet the annual electricity consumption of 1.5 million households.

Since 2023, China Huadian has focused on non fossil energy as its main focus, closely relying on major power projects to carry out scientific and technological breakthroughs. Key scientific and technological projects such as high-cold and high-altitude hydropower construction, research and development and application of new photovoltaic equipment for high corrosive salt field environments, and wind and sand prevention and control in the Shagehuang large base have achieved results; We have obtained the right to develop two 10 million Kilopower Sago New Energy Bases in Inner Mongolia and Gansu, and the 6 million kilowatt Sago New Energy Base on the Xinjiang side of the three Xinjiang power transmission channels.

From January to June 2023, China Huadian added 9.43 million kilowatts of production, including 6.41 million kilowatts of wind power, 15 times the same period last year. A number of million Kilopower national new energy base projects are accelerating to take shape.

The Huadian North Xinjiang Urumqi 1 million kilowatt wind and solar power base project, the first multi energy complementary clean energy base in Xinjiang, which is put into operation this time, is the first batch of large-scale wind and photovoltaic base projects in China. It introduces photovoltaic desertification control and desert soil ecological restoration technology, carries out wind and photovoltaic desertification control, wind prevention, and grass fixation, and systematically protects and repairs deserts, Gobi, and desert areas. Every year, it can add 2.5 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity, save 830000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2.1 million tons.

Huadian Qinghai Delingha 1 million kilowatt photovoltaic hydrogen storage project is the first high-altitude photovoltaic hydrogen storage project in China. Through the Technology roadmap and technical system of photovoltaic hydrogen storage integration, it promotes the extension of the hydrogen energy industry chain, the improvement of the value chain, and the absorption of green electricity and green hydrogen. The project can generate 2.2 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity annually, meeting the annual needs of 2 million households, saving 543900 tons of standard coal annually, reducing 1.48 million tons of carbon dioxide, and producing 600 standard cubic meters of hydrogen per hour.

The first full capacity grid connected base project in Xinjiang - Huadian Changji Mulei 1.05 million yuan wind and solar power base project is the second batch of large-scale wind and photovoltaic base projects in China, including wind power of 800000 kilowatts and photovoltaic of 250000 kilowatts. The wind power sector adopts the largest 7.5 megawatt onshore wind turbine in Xinjiang, which improves the efficiency of wind energy resource conversion. An annual increase of 2.6 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity can be achieved, saving 850000 tons of standard coal, reducing 2.38 million tons of carbon dioxide, 420 tons of sulfur dioxide, and 84 tons of harmful substances such as smoke and dust.

Huadian's next plan will tilt more resources, policies, and talents towards the development of new energy, consolidate its advantages in hydropower, develop gas and electricity according to local conditions, jointly optimize the development of high-quality coal and electricity, focus on project construction and resource reserves, and create conditions to accelerate the production, construction, and reserve of a batch.
