On July 10, 2023, the hoisting of 38 offshore installed megawatt wind turbines in Shenzhen Energy Sonid Left Banner 500MW UHV wind power project was completed, entering the rush phase of grid connected power generation.
Shenzhen Energy Sonid Left Banner 500MW UHV Project is located in Mandulatu Town, Xilingol League, Sonid Left Banner, Inner Mongolia. It is a supporting project of the Ximeng UHV transmission phase II 4 million kilowatt wind and solar storage base. It is the first batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base construction projects focusing on desert, gobi and desert areas jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration. After the project is completed, it can provide 1.67 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity per year. Compared with coal-fired power plants, it can save 668000 tons of standard coal per year and reduce 1.665 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
The project started hoisting in December 2022 and is planned to achieve grid connected power generation in August 2023. For this project, China National Offshore Engineering Corporation (CNOOC) conducted in-depth analysis of local environmental characteristics such as wind resources, geology, and climate conditions. Based on the principles of lowest cost per kilowatt hour and optimal one-time investment, the project was finely designed using the LiGa high-precision wind resource evaluation system based on multi-source data fusion and multi-objective self optimization technology. Ultimately, a comprehensive construction plan was formed, with CNOOC's customized large megawatt affordable model and customized tower and foundation as the main components. Editor/Xie Li
