According to the data from the Energy Big data Center of State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd., as of July 13, 2023, the installed capacity of Xinjiang's new energy has reached 50.26 million kilowatts, breaking 50 million kilowatts, accounting for 41% of the total installed capacity, which has played a positive role in helping China reach its carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

Xinjiang is an important energy production base in China, with wind energy resource reserves and total annual solar radiation ranking among the top in the country. In recent years, relying on the advantages of energy and resource endowment, Xinjiang has vigorously developed renewable energy, continuously promoted energy structure adjustment, and accelerated the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic base projects in desert, Gobi, and desert areas. It has preliminarily achieved the large-scale and intensive development and utilization of new energy, and the scale of the new energy industry is constantly expanding. In the first half of 2023, Xinjiang added 7.017 million kilowatts of new energy installed capacity, an increase of 1.02 million kilowatts compared to the grid connection plan declared at the beginning of the year, reaching 10.5 times the same period last year, and the grid connection value exceeded the sum of the past seven years.

In the first half of 2023, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. completed 13 new energy supporting transmission projects of 110 kV and above, making it the most new energy supporting transmission projects put into operation in the same period of the past decade. The driving effect of new energy investment is prominent. In the first half of the year, the investment in new energy projects and supporting power grids was about 36.364 billion yuan, an increase of 5.424 billion yuan compared to the declared plan at the beginning of the year, and it is expected to drive the GDP growth of Xinjiang by 1.85 percentage points.

In recent years, Xinjiang has relied on its regional advantages to continuously promote energy structure adjustment, vigorously develop renewable energy, and accelerate the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic base projects in desert, Gobi, and desert areas. In view of the large-scale access of new energy to Xinjiang power grid, the energy Big data center has pursued the new energy scene in Xinjiang day by day, realized the dynamic monitoring of new energy operation, continuously improved the accuracy of scenery prediction, and promoted the integration and consumption of new energy by digital means.
