Project Overview

The project is located in Rabigh City, along the coast of the Saudi Red Sea. It uses 100% reverse osmosis seawater desalination technology, with a daily water output of 600000 cubic meters, mainly supplying water to the holy city of Medina. In the Middle East region, where the climate is hot, the desert area is large, and precipitation is scarce, fresh water is even more precious than oil. The fresh water produced through desalination of seawater has become an important supplement and substitute for conventional water resources.

The Saudi Rabigh Phase III Seawater Desalination Project, which is EPC contracted by the Third Power Construction Company of Power Construction Corporation of China, is the world's largest single reverse osmosis seawater desalination project, with a daily water output of 600000 cubic meters. It won the 2022 Global Water Award - the best seawater desalination project of the year, and can provide basic domestic water to more than 2 million households and pilgrims in major Saudi cities such as Jeddah and Mecca every day.
