Recently, the Xinjiang Shache 800000 kilowatt photovoltaic+200000 kilowatt/800000 kilowatt hour integrated energy storage project has been fully connected to the grid for power generation. The supporting energy storage scale of this project is currently the largest electrochemical energy storage power station in China.

Li Yanpo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Xinhua Hydroelectric Power Co., Ltd., said that the project is a key energy construction project in Xinjiang during the 14th Five Year Plan period, with a total investment of nearly 5 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts. After the project is connected to the grid for power generation, it can provide about 1.613 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, which is equivalent to saving about 492000 tons of standard coal annually and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.46 million tons. This is of great significance for enhancing energy supply capacity and promoting green energy transformation in Kashgar and even southern Xinjiang.
