On July 18, 2023, Jimo Aoshan Bay planned to build a new offshore photovoltaic power generation project, which will be constructed by China State Power Construction Qingdao New Energy Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 4.3 billion yuan, including environmental protection investment of 2.187 million yuan and a construction period of 12 months.

The planned installed capacity of this project is 1515.57MWp on the DC side and 1152MW on the AC side, and it is planned to be developed in two phases. The first phase of the project has an installed capacity of 813.9MWp on the DC side and 604.5MW on the AC side, with a capacity ratio of 1.346. A 220kV land-based substation will be constructed as a supporting facility. The sea area involved in the project is 679.7787hm2, including 666.7552hm2 for the photovoltaic area and 13.0235hm2 for the cable tray. According to the sea use method, the sea area for permeable structures is 666.7552hm2, and the sea area for other methods is 13.0235hm2; The booster station covers a total area of 41958.1 square meters; The length of the overhead transmission line path in the land area is about 9km.

In order to accelerate the development of renewable energy sources such as wind power, photovoltaic, and biomass, and reduce carbon emissions, the project mainly constructs solar photovoltaic power generation devices, cable trays, and land supporting booster stations.
