On July 19, 2023, the first centralized large-scale electrochemical energy storage project in Guizhou, the first phase of the Zhonghe Ziyun 200MW/400MWh energy storage project, was successfully connected to the grid with full capacity. This project is constructed in two phases and is the first large-scale independent shared energy storage power station and the first energy storage demonstration power station in Guizhou Province.
The project is located in Maoying Town, Ziyun County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province, covering an area of 75.99 mu. The installed capacity of the energy storage power station is 200MW/400MWh, consisting of two 0.5MW/1.032MWh energy storage units and 58 3.44MW/6.88MWh energy storage units. It is connected to the 35kV busbar of the 220kV energy storage booster station through 10 circuit power lines. The successful operation of this project marks a new stage in the transformation of the new power system in the southwest region.
After the completion of the project, it can greatly solve the randomness and volatility issues of new energy generation in the regional power grid, enabling the widespread and effective utilization of intermittent, low-density renewable clean energy, and meeting the requirements of economic and social development for high-quality, safe, reliable power supply and efficient electricity consumption. It can improve the problem of wind power and photovoltaic power restrictions, increase the proportion of new energy in the power structure, and make the output of wind power and photovoltaic power more stable. It can play a role in peak shaving, valley shaving, frequency regulation, and other aspects of the power grid, and can improve the quality of power supply and the safety and stability of power grid operation.
