Recently, the reporter from Dao.com learned from the website of Hubei Provincial Highway Development Center that the Wuhan Huangshi section of G50 Shanghai–Chongqing Expressway has been included in the National Highway Network Planning (2013-2030), and now it is planned to start the feasibility study of this project. Recently, the expert consultation meeting on the reconstruction and expansion project of Wuhan Huangshi section of G50 Shanghai–Chongqing Expressway was successfully held in Wuhan, which means that the reconstruction and expansion project of Wuhan Huangshi Expressway is about to enter the implementation stage.
The Wuhan Huangshi section of G50 Shanghai–Chongqing Expressway is the old road of the reconstruction and expansion project. It is designed in accordance with the Standard for Plain and Hilly Areas of Class I Automobile Special Highway issued in 1988, with a subgrade width of 24 meters and two-way four lane.
The reconstructed and expanded section starts from the newly built Wudong Toll Station in Wuhan City and ends at the Huangshi Interchange Toll Station in Huangshi City. The whole line is reconstructed and expanded according to the standard of two-way ten lane expressway, with a total length of about 53 kilometers and a design speed of 120 kilometers/hour. The whole line is equipped with 9 interchanges, with a bridge tunnel ratio of about 42%. The reconstruction and expansion plan is based on the two side widening. The project is mainly located in the plain and hilly area, with relatively simple construction conditions. The estimated total investment of the project is approximately 17.2 billion yuan.
