Senegal is located at the westernmost end of the African continent, with strong industrial strength and a comprehensive range of economic sectors. The development of the three major industries is relatively balanced. Therefore, Senegal has the ability to build a national transportation network.
For a long time, under continuous construction, Senegal has achieved a railway mileage of 1300 kilometers and a highway mileage of 14958.1 kilometers, including 5305.5 kilometers of asphalt roads and 9662.6 kilometers of dirt roads. A national road network centered around Dakar has been basically established. However, it is frustrating that Senegal's road network is not complete, and some of its transportation arteries need to pass through other countries, not solely controlled by Senegal.
With the implementation of the the Belt and Road Initiative in Africa, CRBC has continued to explore the international market, making positive contributions to the improvement of infrastructure in African countries, improving people's wellbeing and efficient use of resources, as well as laying a solid foundation for Chinese technology and Chinese brands in the African market. Recently, CRBC's Senegal subsidiary received a notification of award from the Senegal Highway Authority and successfully won the bid for the Luga Ganton section (41 kilometers) of the Dakar Saint Louis Expressway.
The Dakar Saint Louis Highway is an important link between West Africa and the African continent's Arab Maghreb region through the Trans African Corridor 1 (Cairo Dakar). The Luga Ganden section is located in the Luga and St. Louis regions, with a total length of 41 kilometers and a construction period of 24 months. The financing party is the Islamic Development Bank, mainly for the construction of a 2x2 lane highway and vertical and horizontal drainage projects.
After the completion of the project, it will achieve interconnectivity between Senegal, Mauritania, and North Africa, and increase internal trade exchanges in Africa, greatly promoting the development of oil and gas resources, rapid transportation of fisheries and agricultural products in northern Senegal, and the development of tourism along the Great Coast.Editor/Ma Xue
