The Solomon Islands is located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean and is a country with the reputation of being an island of happiness. More than 900 islands of Solomon Islands, large and small, are embraced by the sea, with spectacular Natural landscape, rich natural resources and unique cultural heritage.

In mid September 2019, the two countries officially established diplomatic relations. Since then, the development of bilateral relations has pressed the accelerator button, becoming a model of unity, cooperation, and joint development among countries of different sizes and developing countries. Four years later, Prime Minister Sogavare of Prime Minister of Solomon Islands visited China again and jointly announced with China the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership for mutual respect and common development in the new era.

In November 2023, the 17th Pacific Games will be held in Solomon Islands. This is the first time that Solomon Islands has hosted the Pacific Games. The stadium of this Pacific Games was built with the assistance of China, which is also the first large-scale complete project of China aided Institute after the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Institute in 2019.

We signed the the Belt and Road Initiative Cooperation Agreement with China in 2019, and now we have seen results.
