On July 26, 2023, the signing ceremony of the financing agreement for the Bangladesh Dhaka RAD Highway Project was held at the headquarters of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Fang Ke, Director of the Executive Supervision Bureau of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Zheng Ke, head of large and medium-sized enterprises in DBS Bank China, Yang Shixin, head of the structured financing team of the Corporate Finance Department of the Bank of China S.M. Monirule Islam, Vice President of Bangladesh Infrastructure Development Co., Ltd., and other consortium representatives attended the signing ceremony together with Li Changgui, Deputy General Manager of the company and Chairman of Karad Expressway Co., Ltd. Yu Jing, Deputy General Manager of China Communications Construction Investment Management Department, and representatives from Bangladesh PPP Management Bureau, Highway Bureau and other units witnessed the signing of the agreement.

The representatives of the banks affirmed CRBC's achievements in the field of infrastructure in Bangladesh under the leadership of the the Belt and Road Initiative, and expressed their strong support for the Dhaka RAD highway project.

The project is another example of the connection between the the Belt and Road Initiative and Bangladesh's 2041 vision and benefits the two peoples. After completion, it will promote Bangladesh's important role in regional connectivity, greatly ease the traffic pressure in the local and surrounding areas, and drive Bangladesh's GDP growth.

The Bangladesh Dhaka RAD Highway Project is the first limited recourse financing project that CCCC and CRBC have jointly participated in with multilateral financial institutions, foreign banks, and Chinese banks. The consortium has jointly practiced cooperation between China and third-party markets, creating a precedent for cooperation between China Communications Construction Corporation, China Road and Bridge Corporation, and the Asian Investment Bank in the field of investment and financing, and creating a model for PPP projects in Bangladesh's multilateral cooperation, with good demonstration effects.Editor/Ma Xue
