Recently, Zhang Mengxing, Deputy Secretary of MCC Party Committee, Secretary of MCC Party Committee, and President, respectively met with Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Malape, Minister of Mines Arno Pala, and Minister of Labor Casey Sawang in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to conduct in-depth discussions and exchanges on further strengthening exchanges and cooperation, and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.

During a visit to Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Malape, Zhang Mengxing stated that the Ruimu nickel cobalt project is a model of friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Pakistan. After years of arduous exploration, it has successfully achieved high, stable, and profitable production, and has received high praise from the local government and the public. MCC will fully leverage the advantages of the entire industry chain, accelerate the upgrading of the Ruimu nickel cobalt project, and contribute MCC's strength to the benefit of local society. James Marape stated that MCC and Papua New Guinea have a long history of cooperation, profound friendship, and broad prospects. Over the years, the Ruimu Nickel Cobalt Project has made positive contributions to the local economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods. We hope that both sides can accelerate the upgrade of the Ruimu Nickel Cobalt Project on the basis of existing cooperation, continue to expand the mining development field, and strive to develop downstream processing industries, jointly creating a new situation of collaborative development and mutual benefit.

During a meeting with Papua New Guinea's Minister of Mines, Arno Pala, and Minister of Labor, Casey Sawang, Zhang Mengxing stated that MCC has maintained close contact with the Papua New Guinea government and has conducted extensive cooperation in areas such as resource development, mining construction, and infrastructure. MCC will fully leverage its own advantages, actively fulfill its duties, and achieve mutual benefit and common development with the local government. Arnold Pala and Casey Sawang appreciate MCC's outstanding contributions in government finance and taxation, infrastructure assistance, surrounding community development, and local residents' employment. They also stated that Papua New Guinea is rich in mineral resources and urgently needs to improve its infrastructure.
