With the sound of a whistle, three large railway maintenance machinery and equipment for wide gauge railways began to be lifted and ready to depart, with their destination being Bangladesh. This is another effort by Railway Construction Equipment to actively go global, and these equipment will be used for the Padma Bridge Railway Connection Line project in Bangladesh. This project is the largest railway project under the cooperation between China and Bangladesh under the the Belt and Road framework, and it is also the largest infrastructure construction project with the largest scale and investment in Bangladesh's history.

The Padma Bridge Railway Connection Line project has a total length of approximately 170 kilometers, starting from the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka (DHAKA), passing through the Padma Bridge and extending southwest to JESSORE, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. After the project is completed, more than 20 districts in southern Bangladesh will be connected to the capital city of Dhaka, and the time from JESSORE to DHAKA will be reduced from 10 hours to 2 hours.

The equipment provided by Railway Construction Equipment to the Padma Bridge Railway Connection Line Project is specially developed for railway maintenance to adapt to the 1676mm gauge railway. They can achieve simultaneous tamping of straight and curved turnout strands, greatly improving the efficiency of tamping operations. Through stabilization devices, the ballast is rearranged to achieve density, improving the lateral resistance of the operation line and the overall stability of the track bed.

These advanced and efficient Chinese large locomotives will undoubtedly greatly improve the level of mechanized maintenance of Bangladesh's railway lines and promote the high-quality development of Bangladesh's national railway. The Padma Bridge Railway Link Project in Bangladesh fully reflects the cooperation concept of the the Belt and Road Initiative, that is, to carry out mutually beneficial and win-win international cooperation.
