Recently, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Sudani attended the Iraq Amara 2 project, which was contracted by Harbin Electric Power International × 125MW single cycle to combined cycle power plant project power generation ribbon cutting activity.
At the ceremony, Prime Minister Sudani expressed appreciation for the construction achievements of the Amara project. He stated that the Amara project is a key construction project of the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Electricity, and the joint cycle expansion and renovation has achieved the goal of providing more electricity without the need for additional fuel, which is of great strategic significance. The commercial operation of the unit will greatly alleviate the shortage of electricity in Iraq, provide reliable electricity for the Iraqi people during the scorching summer heat, and lay a solid foundation for Iraq to cope with the peak summer electricity consumption.
The Amara Project in Iraq is the first EPC power plant EPC project of HEC International to promote the construction of the the Belt and Road and successfully enter the Iraqi market. The project is located 20 kilometers southeast of Amara City, Missan Province, Iraq, and is located in the existing 4 × Based on the 500MW single cycle power plant of 9E (GE gas turbine), 4 waste heat boilers and 2 125MW steam turbine generator units will be expanded, ultimately achieving 750MW combined cycle power generation.
