On August 16, 2023, a reporter from Jiandao Network learned from Shunde District, Foshan City that the Guipan Seawater Overpass Project, which connects the two major tourist attractions of Shunfeng Mountain Park and Happy Coast PLUS in Shunde, will start construction around November 2023. It is reported that previously, the Guipan Lake Water Culture and Tourism Comprehensive Development Project in Shunde District was a provincial-level water economy pilot project, and the planned Guipan Seawater Overpass Project is also the first water overpass project in Guangdong Province.

It is reported that after the completion of the project, the connection between the water axis system and the land will be fully established, achieving the "hand in hand" of Shunde's two super landmarks - Shunfengshan Park and Happy Coast PLUS. The straight-line distance between the two places will be shortened to about 300 meters, and citizens and tourists can easily walk to enjoy the two popular theme parks.

It is understood that the project has issued a bidding announcement to the public in July 2023. According to the announcement, the construction content of the project mainly consists of three parts: building a new Guipan Lake inverted siphon box culvert, connecting Guipan Lake with the Happy Coast water body, and improving the landscape of the area.

The total investment of the project is approximately 150 million yuan. It is also reported that in order to minimize the impact on citizens' travel, the project will be constructed in stages. In November, the construction of Guipanhai Artificial River Inverted Siphon Box Culvert and West Bridge was first launched, and the construction of other parts of the project was gradually promoted based on the construction situation.
