BYD signed the "Investment Agreement for the Production of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles and Their Components in Uzbekistan." The agreement shows that BYD will establish a joint venture BYD Uzbekistan factory with Uzbekistan's state-controlled automobile group Uzavtosanoat JSC to produce electric and hybrid vehicles. The planned output of the first and second phases of the investment project is 50,000 vehicles/year. After the completion of the third phase, the output will reach 300,000 vehicles/year.
The BYD delegation led by BYD President and Founder Wang Chuanfu was received by Uzbek President Mirziyoyev. The meeting discussed the issue of quickly launching a hybrid and electric vehicle production base in Jizzak Oblast and increasing production capacity to 300,000 vehicles in the subsequent stage. At the end of 2022, UzAuto, a Ukrainian automotive industry company, and BYD officially registered a joint venture in Ukraine to produce and sell BYD's electric and hybrid new energy vehicles locally.
