Recently, Hainan Ruidian New Energy Technology Investment Co., Ltd. invested in the construction of an independent energy storage power station project in Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone, with a total investment of approximately 1 billion yuan. The purpose is to build a 200MW/400MWh electrochemical energy storage system and its supporting facilities. On September 28, 2023, the project commencement ceremony was held in Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone.

The project is divided into two phases, with the first phase to construct a 100MW/200MWh energy storage facility, with an estimated investment of 500 million yuan and a total area of 34 acres. The second phase plans to build energy storage facilities of the same scale at the same location, with a total installed capacity of 200MW/400MWh.

Hainan Ruidian New Energy Technology Investment Co., Ltd. stated that the energy storage power station constructed this time will adopt an advanced container layout method. After boosting, it will be connected to the 110kV Shejiang substation busbar and transmitted through the Shejiang substation. This design not only improves the stability of the power system, but also provides timely energy support during peak electricity demand periods.

This project has received attention and strong support from local governments. It has been included in the key implementation projects of Meizhou City in 2023, as well as the annual construction plans of new energy storage power stations in various cities in 2023. It is expected that the project will complete completion acceptance and be officially put into operation by April 2024.  Editor/Yang Yang
