Sri Lankan President Wickremesinghe arrived in Beijing on October 16, 2023 to attend the 3rd Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum. In an exclusive interview, he emphasized that by adhering to high standards in the process of jointly building the Belt and Road, we have been able to achieve high-quality results in infrastructure construction, policy decision-making implementation, and economic development results. He hopes that this summit forum can achieve more results in multiple fields. Especially in terms of climate finance and jointly building a green Belt and Road, he hopes that countries can achieve meaningful results and contribute to promoting global sustainable development. 

At the same time, he also hopes to open up more new cooperation opportunities in the fields of digitalization, green energy, health, cultural heritage protection and other fields, and strive to achieve a more fair and reasonable global economic governance. He said that through joint efforts, he believed that this summit forum would be able to achieve fruitful results and make new and greater contributions to promoting the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
