Recently, at the Entrepreneurs Conference of the Third the Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum, Zhou Jiayi, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of Powerchina Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters, on behalf of Powerchina, signed a general contract for the 1000MW wind power project in Sekong Province, Laos with Thailand Yingpai Energy Asia Co., Ltd.
The wind power project is located in southern Laos, and the main content of the project includes the design, procurement, construction of a 1000MW wind farm, and construction of related infrastructure such as power transmission. The project will transmit electricity to Vietnam through cross-border transmission lines, making important contributions to building a "Southeast Asian battery" in Laos and promoting the interconnection of electricity in the Indochina Peninsula. This project is a landmark project in Laos' new energy development plan and will become the largest wind power project in Southeast Asia upon completion.
Since entering the Lao market in 1996, China Power Construction has been widely involved in the contracting and investment fields of Laos' electricity, transportation, municipal engineering, and other projects, and is an important participant in the development of Laos' economic construction. As of now, the total installed capacity of new energy projects that have been awarded and signed in Laos has reached 2.2GW, making it the largest new energy contractor in the Lao national market.
