On October 25, 2023, the 315 MW photovoltaic power station project in the first phase of Gaochari, Hujui Province, Argentina, financed by the Export Import Bank of China and implemented by the China Electric Power Construction Shanghai Electric Power Construction Joint Venture, officially signed a final handover certificate with the owner, marking the end of the project's warranty period and formal handover. The Gaocharui photovoltaic project is also the first fully transferred project by China Power Construction Corporation in Argentina.
The Gaocharui photovoltaic power station project is the highest altitude and largest photovoltaic power station project in South America, and also the largest photovoltaic project built by China Power Construction in the Argentine market, with an installed capacity of 315 megawatts.
Through the unremitting efforts of all members of the project team, Gaocharui Photovoltaic Power Station has demonstrated a high level of professionalism in all aspects of design, construction, and commissioning. As of the project handover, the project has generated 2.41 million megawatt hours of electricity, reducing approximately 325000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
The successful completion of this project has been widely and highly recognized by the central and local governments, local communities, and environmental organizations in Argentina, and has become a shining business card for China Argentina cooperation.
