On November 22, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Datang Duolun 150000 kW wind solar hydrogen integrated demonstration project and the Datang Duolun coal chemical self owned coal-fired power plant renewable energy substitution project with a capacity of 175000 kW was held in Duolun County, Xilingol League. The project aims to promote the "low-carbon" and "zero carbon" transformation of coal chemical industry, make new contributions to the local green transformation and high-quality development, and contribute to the high-quality development of Datang Group in Mongolia Deepening and solidifying the strategic cooperation agreement between the two sides, opening up a new milestone.
The Datang Duolun 150000 kilowatt wind and solar hydrogen integrated demonstration project has assisted coal chemical industry in achieving green and low-carbon transformation by replacing "gray hydrogen" with "green hydrogen". After the project is put into operation, the annual hydrogen production capacity reaches 70.59 million cubic meters, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 129300 tons. This project will become an important component of strengthening the wind and solar hydrogen storage industry cluster and building a national level new energy equipment manufacturing base in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Especially, the research on green hydrogen coupling coal chemical industry can play a positive demonstration role for Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Ximeng to carry out large-scale wind and solar hydrogen production, new energy storage technology research, and promote the industrial application of green hydrogen.
The 175000 kilowatt project of Datang Duolun Coal Chemical's coal-fired self owned power plant renewable energy substitution project selects 28 generator units with a single unit capacity of 6.25 megawatts, equipped with 15% -4 hours of energy storage. After the project is completed, it can provide 496.92 million kilowatt hours of green energy throughout the year, achieving an 87.5% substitution ratio of renewable energy source capacity for coal-fired self owned power plants, equivalent to replacing standard coal by 151700 tons and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 419400 tons. The green power substitution project will achieve complete coupling power supply between wind power generation and coal-fired self owned power plants, supporting large coal chemical production enterprises, achieving overall operational stability, safety, and economic benefits maximization, and assisting in local energy structure adjustment and the implementation of the "dual carbon" goal.
The two projects will effectively promote the "low-carbon" and "zero carbon" transformation of coal chemical industry, and help Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to comprehensively build a national important energy base. Among them, the wind and solar hydrogen production project is the first medium-sized and large-scale demonstration project of deep coupling coal chemical technology for wind and solar off grid hydrogen production in China, and the green power replacement project does not rely on peak shaving and consumption of the power grid.
