The design note on the site also mentioned that the stadium will reach 6 floors, in which the World Football Culture Museum and Guangzhou Evergrande Football Honor Room will be set up. The rendering of the professional stadium was also released on the spot, showing a lotus shape with Chinese characteristics. The design of Lotus originated from Guangzhou's status as a city of flowers. The stadium includes 16 VVIP private rooms, 152 VIP private rooms, FIFA area, athletes area, media area and press room.

The design of the site was selected from eight proposals submitted by architects in Australia, China, the United Kingdom, and the United States, before Evergrande decided to collaborate with American designer Hassan Said.

His entry works are based on lotus flowers and pay tribute to Guangzhou's "Flower City".
