Recently, the Shanghai base construction project of Shanghai Xiba Qingyi New Material Technology Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony in the eastern park of the Economic Development Zone. After the project is completed, it will be engaged in the research and production of key advanced material hardcore technologies in the water treatment and new energy fields.

Shanghai Xiba Qingyi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Xiba Technology Co., Ltd., a listed company on the main board. After nearly 30 years of exploration and accumulation, Shanghai Xiba has become a leading provider of comprehensive solutions for specialty chemicals in China. At the same time, focusing on advanced materials and key technologies in the field of new energy, with the development goal of producing revolutionary iterative technologies and products, the company has been laying out the new materials track for many years, conducting extensive research and accumulating certain experience in the fields of negative electrode materials, solid electrolyte powders, etc.

In terms of the process of mesoporous carbon silicon anode composite materials, based on the original scientific research achievements of Zhao Dongyuan, an academician of the CAS Member, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Chemistry of Fudan University, and his team, Shanghai Xiba has promoted the technical industrialization of lithium ion battery silicon carbon anode and hard carbon anode advanced materials, sodium ion battery soft carbon hard carbon composite anode advanced materials, lithium ion battery grade carboxymethyl cellulose lithium (CMCLI) and other fields. The production process of mesoporous carbon has been optimized, and the stable preparation of high-quality mesoporous carbon has been achieved. By utilizing the pore confinement effect of mesoporous carbon materials, a new strategy of interface injection/deposition has been developed. Ultra small silicon species can be controlled to fill the pores of mesoporous carbon, and a new type of high capacity and near zero expansion mesoporous carbon silicon negative electrode composite material has been constructed. At present, silicon carbon negative electrode materials have achieved a production capacity of 20 kilograms, and samples have been sent for testing by leading companies in the industry. Strategic cooperation agreements have been reached with some battery companies to jointly develop new silicon carbon negative electrode materials.

Solid state lithium-ion battery electrolyte powder is a key advanced material in the lithium-ion solid-state battery industry chain. At present, Shanghai Xiba has cooperated with the research team of Zhang Tao from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Silicate Research Institute to build a 10 ton standard industrial production line. "In order to keep up with the market development in related fields and meet the continuous growth of business scale and the demand for related production capacity, Shanghai Xiba will accelerate the construction process of the Songjiang Base project. Among them, the industrial Class A factory building of solid electrolyte powder with an area of over 2500 square meters will be completed in the first quarter of 2024, and the installation and commissioning of related production equipment will begin." said Wang Wei, Chairman and General Manager of Shanghai Xiba.

Li Yan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Economic Development Zone Group Company, stated that the Shanghai Xiba New Project focuses on three tracks: overall solutions for healthy environment technology, overall solutions for healthy living technology, and carbon science and technology, and will make important contributions to the regional economic development of the Economic Development Zone. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will become another strong engine to promote the high-quality development of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor in the Yangtze River Delta.
