On December 29, the executive meeting of The State Council deliberated and decided to approve Units 3 and 4 of the Guangdong Taipingling Nuclear Power Project of CGN. The meeting stressed that the safety of nuclear power is extremely important, we must adhere to safety first, in accordance with the highest global safety standards and requirements, steadily and orderly promote the construction of the project, strengthen the whole chain and all areas of safety supervision, to ensure absolute safety and foolproof. It is necessary to further increase support for the innovation and development of the nuclear power industry, and comprehensively enhance the competitiveness of nuclear power equipment and related industries.

It is reported that CGN Guangdong Taiping Ling nuclear power project 3, 4 units using China's third generation of nuclear power technology with independent intellectual property rights - "Hualong one", a single unit rated power of 1209MW (MW), equipment of more than 95% of the proportion of domestic equipment, in terms of safety performance to meet China's nuclear safety regulations and standards and international Atomic Energy Agency safety requirements. At present, the project is steadily and orderly to promote the preparatory work before the start of construction.

Up to now, CGN has 27 nuclear power units in operation, with an installed capacity of 30.568 million kilowatts, and 11 nuclear power units under construction in China, with an installed capacity of 13.246 million kilowatts.
