Although Quanzhou is located on the southeast coast, it is also an area with water shortages. After the Baize Reservoir is constructed, it will be the largest reservoir in Quanzhou. Recently, the Ministry of Natural Resources approved the advance use of land for the Quanzhou Baize Water Control Project. The 9 1586.9 acres of land involving 3 villages and 3 state-owned units in Anxi County are the location of the main body of the project.

It is reported that the advance land use approval is a special safeguard measure for the national and provincial key projects by the central government. The scope of land use is generally limited to the single projects in the key projects that control the construction period and the sections that need to be started urgently, to ensure that these long-time projects are started first. . According to the person in charge of the construction headquarters of the Quanzhou Baize Water Control Project, the construction of the main project of the Baise Reservoir was started in Quanzhou at the end of 2019. Among them, the downstream permanent traffic bridge project has been started. The approval of the advanced land has established the legality of the construction land, which means that the dam-based hub project can be fully started. We will do our utmost to advance the preliminary work and strive to start the dam body before the end of the year.

The Quanzhou Baize Water Control Project is located in the upper stream of the Xixi River in the Jinjiang River. It controls a watershed area of 968 square kilometers, a normal water storage level of 288 meters, a total storage capacity of 544 million cubic meters, a storage capacity of 492 million cubic meters, and a power plant installed capacity of 57 MW. The permanent land acquisition for project construction involves a total of 25,896 acres in 22 administrative villages in 5 townships and 2 market towns in Anxi and Yongchun counties.

After the reservoir is constructed, it can solve the water problems that the local residents urgently need to solve, improve the living water conditions of the people, and fundamentally solve the mid-to-long-term water shortage problem in Quanzhou. Editor / Zhao Jing
