On April 24, 2024, China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. and Shandong Power Construction Co., LTD., a subsidiary of Power China, respectively signed contracts with Saudi Aramco to jointly join the construction of the third phase of the Saudi National gas pipeline network expansion project.
China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. successfully won the EPC contract for the first phase of the third expansion project of the Saudi National Gas pipeline network, with a contract value of up to 1.699 billion US dollars, setting a new record for Chinese enterprises in the Saudi market oil and gas EPC contract. At the same time, Shandong Power Construction also successfully won the EPC general contract of the second bid section, with the contract amount reaching 1.5 billion US dollars, which indicates that the company has fully participated in the construction of the third phase of the Saudi national natural gas pipeline network, showing a strong strength and influence.
The expansion of the third phase of the Saudi National Gas Pipeline Network System is a national strategic project in Saudi Arabia, with a total investment of $12 billion, consisting of 17 sections, focusing on the expansion of booster stations, supporting facilities and the laying of new pipelines. After the completion of the project, the daily gas transmission capacity will be increased to 17.5 billion cubic feet, to meet the industrial development needs of western Saudi Arabia, reduce oil energy consumption, and have a significant impact on economic development, energy exports and environmental protection.
