Recently, the "Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Master Plan Revision (2020 Edition)" was officially approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Baiyun Airport is one of the three major international aviation hubs in China and the core airport of the world-class airport cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The terminal maintains the configuration of 5 parallel runways and plans to add a satellite hall in Terminal T3. In the new plan, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is positioned as an international aviation hub that will lead the construction of world-class airport clusters in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and support the strategy of civil aviation power.

According to the relevant plan released by Guangzhou in 2019, using the inter-city rail, the Baiyun Airport can reach the Guangzhou Railway Station and the Pazhou area within 20 minutes, and the high-speed highway can reach the old city and Tianhe central area within 30 minutes. On internal traffic, the travel time between terminals will be controlled within 10 minutes, and between functional areas within 15 minutes.

Statistics show that in 2019, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport's passenger throughput exceeded 73 million passengers, nearly 500,000 flights took off and landed, and cargo and mail throughput exceeded 1.9 million tons. At present, Baiyun Airport has two terminals and three runways. The route network covers more than 230 destinations worldwide, including more than 90 international and regional destinations.

Baiyun Airport has a superior geographical location, which can connect various cities in the interior and cover Southeast Asia. The route covers a wide range and has the advantage of a natural network connecting Europe, America and Australia. In the future, Baiyun Airport will build a comprehensive transportation center and interchange hub integrating air transportation, high-speed rail, subway, intercity rail and expressway, and build a new round of opening up in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Play a greater role in Editor / Zhao Jing
