CNOOC announced on the morning of June 2 that as the last 12-inch subsea pipeline ended its heading into the sea, the first phase of the laying of the submarine pipeline in the Lingshui 17-2 gas field, China's largest deep-water submarine pipeline laying project, was successfully completed, which also marked Significant breakthrough in China's deep-water oil and gas resource development capabilities.

The Lingshui 17-2 gas field, 150 kilometers away from Hainan Island, is China's first deep-water self-operated gas field. The water depth of the pipe laying operation this time was 1542 meters, setting a new record for the water depth of China's submarine pipelines.

The Lingshui 17-2 gas field where the submarine pipeline was laid is one of the important oil and gas discoveries in China in recent years, with proven geological reserves exceeding 100 billion cubic meters. The submarine pipeline laying project is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. Editor/Huang Lijun
