On May 30, 2020, China Power Construction announced that the first rail transit PPP project undertaken by China Power Construction Railway Corporation, the first phase of Chengdu Rail Transit Line 18 project was successfully handed over, making a firm step towards high-quality opening. On June 2, 2020, the first opening section of Line 18 was empty, marking that the project has shifted from the construction phase to the operational phase.

As the first aorta in Chengdu's "eastward" strategy, Line 18 is an important rail transit line connecting the main urban area of Chengdu with Tianfu New District and Tianfu International Airport. The market express line and the airport dedicated line function as one, which will further lead in the future Change the pattern of urban development and accelerate the realization of the magnificent picture of "airport hub, global rail, metro city".

The first section of Chengdu Rail Transit Line 18 is from South Railway Station to Sancha Station, with a total length of 55.92 kilometers, with 9 stations, a comprehensive vehicle base, and three main substations. Among them, the distance between Tianfu New Station and Sancha is nearly 20 kilometers, which will break the record of the longest section of the Chengdu rail transit project currently under construction.

The handover work is divided into three parts: 1. Eight stations were successfully handed over, including South Railway Station, Incubation Park Station, Haichang Road Station, Xibo City Station, Xinglong Station, Tianfu New Station, and 7 wind stations in the first opening Well; 2. Rail track area transfer, Tianfu New Station-Futian Station (excluding Futian Station Line), about 26.13 kilometers in length; 3. New Miao Control Center transfer, the second phase of the overall transfer of the control center, and the first phase of the renovation project.

The no-load was carried out in accordance with the principles of segmentation and then through, increasing trains on line, gradual reduction of departure intervals, and gradual extension of trial operation time. The personnel, equipment, and regulations of the first opening section of Line 18 were inspected and verified. At the same time, during the no-load trial operation, joint commissioning subjects such as multi-system linkage function test, line network interconnection test and power supply capability test will continue to be carried out to ensure the smooth and orderly operation organization, passenger transportation organization and maintenance organization after the official opening.

As the vanguard of the eastward construction of Chengdu, China Power Construction has successively conquered 206 major and extremely dangerous sources in the construction of the first opening section of Line 18. In order to overcome the key technical problems of large-diameter shield tunneling, a total of 16 8.6-meter large-diameter shield machines were invested in the first opening section, which was the first time in the history of Chengdu rail transit construction.
