Recently, the pre-examination of the second phase of the Ningbo Rail Transit Line 3 project was approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Natural Resources. The project has also become the first batch of pre-examination projects for construction land in the province after the delegation of national land use approval authority.

According to the approved documents, the total scale of the pre-examination land for the second phase of the No. 3 line of the rail transit is 18.59 hectares. The maximum running speed of the track design is 80 km/h, and the total investment of the project is 7.485 billion yuan.

The second phase of Line 3 has a total length of 9.05 kilometers. The project will be in operation with Line 5 Phase I in the near future and will be in operation with Line 3 Phase I in the long term.

The line starts at the west end of the first-phase project of Line 5 and is all laid underground. It mainly passes through Zhenhai New City South District, Jiangbei Zhuangqiao Airport Area and Zhenhai New City North District, and ends at the Camel Street of Zhenhai District on the south side of the Ring Expressway.

There are 5 stations on the line, namely Xinghai South Road Station, Huaye Street Station, Passenger North Station Station, Zhenhai Avenue Station, and Camel North Station, all of which are underground stations.

The construction of rail transit is more convenient for citizens to travel, and it is also conducive to the better implementation of low-carbon public transportation modes. Not only that, it is also conducive to strengthening the economic radiation capacity of Ningbo's central city, further exerting the advantages of rail transit networking, and improving the overall efficiency of the line network, which is of great significance to the expansion of the scale and function of Ningbo's metropolitan area.
