On June 19, 2020, the ground project of the Shuangtaizi Gas Storage and Injection Station in PetroChina’s Liaohe Oilfield in Panjin, Liaoning, began construction, marking the full construction of the Liaohe Gas Storage Group, the first gas storage group in Northeast my country.

The Liaohe Gas Storage Group is a key national oil and gas infrastructure project, and it is also the first gas storage project to be jointly constructed by CNPC and local governments. The gas storage group has a total investment of 60 billion yuan and a total designed storage capacity of 25.8 billion cubic meters. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2029. After the project is completed, it will become the largest gas storage peaking center in eastern my country.

In order to give full play to the role of peak shaving, supply and emergency gas supply, and to improve my country's natural gas reserves, my country has increased the pace of construction of gas storage.
