On the morning of June 28, 2020, the continuous beams of the Lancang River Bridge under construction of the Dali to Ruili Railway were completed with concrete pouring, and the completion of the bridge deck was completed, which marked the completion of the main project of the bridge and created favorable conditions for the construction and track laying of the subsequent auxiliary facilities of the bridge. The full bridge is expected to be completed in August this year.
One end of the Lancang River Bridge is located in Dali City, Yunnan Province, one end is connected to Baoshan City, one bridge is connected to two cities, and it crosses the Lancang River Sky. It is a major and difficult control project on the whole line. The bridge has a total length of 528 meters and a main span of 342 meters. The height difference between the bridge and the river is 270 meters, which is equivalent to the height of a 90-story building. The bridge is a through-type stiff-frame reinforced concrete basket arch bridge. The main arch is filled with steel tube arch and encased concrete structure. A total of 85,000 cubic meters of concrete and 14,000 tons of steel are used. "Compared with steel bridges, this kind of bridge has a low cost and is easy to repair and maintain after it is opened, but it is difficult to construct." said Ye Shaodian, project manager of the Darui Railway Project Department of China Railway Bridge Bureau.
The bridge is located in the canyon area and the air outlet, and there are landslide bodies near the upper and lower reaches of the bridge site, and the surrounding traffic is inconvenient. Here from October to May each year belongs to the wind season, with a maximum wind speed of 25 meters per second and a strong wind of more than 10 levels. The lifting of rods and welding are almost impossible. During the rainy season from June to October, the landslides and landslides on the Panshan sidewalk frequently occur, which is not conducive to the transportation of large components. Therefore, all structures of the entire bridge are entered by small rods, and then the on-site assembly will increase the difficulty of construction.
In view of the characteristics of high safety risk, complex technology, and difficulty in construction, the Darui Railway Construction Headquarters organized all parties involved in the construction to hold a number of program seminars, invited authoritative experts to conduct on-site consultations, and rely on China Railway Bridge Bureau and other units in bridge construction. The scientific research force has carried out comprehensive independent innovation and has successively obtained 3 national technological innovation patents. Zeng Chao, chief engineer of the China Railway Bridge Bureau's Darui Railway Project Department, told reporters that due to the special geographical environment and climate, the Lancang River Bridge was constructed using the "secondary vertical turn" construction method, which is the first time in the history of bridge construction in the world; The sum of the "turning" angles is up to 130 degrees, and its vertical turning angle is currently the largest in the world; the vertical weight of the bridge on one side is 2500 tons, which is also the world's largest bridge construction. The completion of the main project of the Lancang River Extra Large Bridge, which has set three "world's first" bridge-building records, has accumulated valuable experience for my country's construction of bridges in high mountain valleys and wind outlets, marking that my country's arch bridge construction is still at the world's leading level.
The total length of the Darui Railway is about 330 kilometers. It starts from Dali City in Yunnan Province and extends to Ruili City on the China-Myanmar border in the west. It is one of the important projects in my country's "Mid- and Long-Term Railway Network Planning" to improve the layout of the road network and the development of the west. After it is completed and opened to traffic, the travel time from Dali to Ruili will be shortened from about 7 hours to about 3 hours. This has far-reaching significance for promoting economic and social development along the route, improving the opening up of Yunnan to the outside world, and promoting exchanges and cooperation between my country and South Asian and Southeast Asian countries.
