Recently, the preliminary design of the Hangzhou-Ningbo section of the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway has been approved by the Ministry of Communications.

Construction scale and technical standards

The Hangzhou-Ningbo section of the Hangzhou-Ningbo National Highway starts from the vicinity of Hongshan Village, Nanyang Street, Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, and connects the completed Hong 15 line to the proposed Hangzhou city center (104 National Road). It stops at the junction of Shangyu and Yuyao and connects the Ningbo-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway The second phase of the project has a total length of 52.792 kilometers.

There are 10 interchanges in Nanyang (junction), Hezhuang, Yipeng (integrated), Dangwan (integrated), Linjiangnan, Ma'an, Yuedong Road, Binhai (junction), Songxia and Gaibei across the line. The two interchanges of Yuedong Road and Songxia Road are under construction at the same time, with a total length of 15.273 kilometers, and the Red Line 15 is under construction with a total length of 14.426 kilometers. Another intelligent high-speed test center will be built.

The main line is built according to the expressway standard, with a design speed of 120 km/h, a subgrade width of 34.5 meters, and the restoration and construction of the connecting line and the red 15 line adopt the first-class road standard, and the connecting line of Yuedong Road takes into account the urban road standard.

As a representative of intelligent highways, Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway will combine the research experience of similar projects in the near future to plan and build systems such as comprehensive perception and management, infrastructure digitalization, vehicle-road cooperative communication, intelligent tunnels, intelligent service areas, cloud control centers, and energy security systems. With the intelligent high-speed test field, it can realize intelligent high-speed application scenarios such as road segment operation management, vehicle-road coordination, active control, ETC free flow toll collection, intelligent tunnels, accompanying information corridors, and vehicle grouping tests.

After the project is completed, it will greatly enhance the traffic capacity of the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway, ease the traffic pressure in the Jiangnan area, provide more convenient travel channels for Hangzhou citizens, and also have an important role in promoting the economic and social development of Shaoxing Binhai New City and the eastern part of Yuecheng District significance.
