On July 15th, Shandong Shouguang, Luqing Petrochemical project site, developed and manufactured by Sany Heavy Industry, the world's largest 4,000-ton crawler crane SCC40000A, successfully completed the No. 4 "1500-ton" propylene tower lifting.

This crane signifies that in a true sense, "Made in China" has achieved a full range of replacements for imported crawler crane products.

The world's largest: the industry's most sophisticated technology

SCC40000A is a super-large tonnage crawler crane independently developed by Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. according to construction requirements, and it is also the largest tonnage crawler crane in service in the world.

It has a maximum lifting moment of 90,000 tons and a maximum lifting weight of 4,000 tons. It has more than 20 invention patents, 2 of which are international invention patents.

Zhang Yang, the project manager of the large-tonnage product institute of Sany Equipment Research Institute, introduced: "The main engine of the product is "four crawlers and eight drives". The herringbone double boom is 120 meters long, plus the super mast, counterweight, hook, etc. Nearly 3,000 square meters, it takes 150 trucks with a load of 30 tons to be transported away."

This super-volume crawler crane is the most complex product with the highest manufacturing accuracy in the mechanical equipment industry, and is also an intuitive manifestation of the research and development strength of the host manufacturers.

Yu Limin, chairman of Shandong Gulf Hoisting Engineering Co., Ltd., said: "At present, there is no such a large tonnage crawler crane abroad, this 4000 tons is the largest!"

Field Record: Thousand tons of tower cranes rise from the ground

The No. 4 propylene tower hoisted this time is the "Optimus Prime" in the tower. The hoisting weight is about 1500 tons, which is large and difficult.

On the same day, the crane lifted the hook on time, and after a series of high-precision actions such as lifting, turning, and positioning, the huge propylene tower was accurately placed. The hoisting was completed in one time, and the error accuracy far exceeded the control standard.

It is understood that this project is the first "rubber-plastic integration" production line in China, with a total investment of about 16 billion yuan. After the project is completed, polypropylene and other products will break the foreign monopoly and help the local become an important rubber and plastic production base in the country.

Extremely proud! Domestic equipment is not what it used to be

This crane marks that "Made in China" in the true sense has achieved a full range of replacements for imported crawler crane products, and once again laid the benchmark position of "three big tonnage cranes" in the industry, with extraordinary significance.

At the beginning of this century, my country's large-tonnage crawler lifting equipment has been monopolized by foreign brands, and the R&D and manufacturing standards of domestic products lag far behind the market demand.

Until 2004, Sany took the lead in developing the first 400-ton crawler crane in China, and 23 times of dome hoisting of nuclear power plants shocked the world. Since then, the technology of domestic large-tonnage crawler cranes has made rapid progress and began to recover the lost ground.

The epidemic also shows that relying on imports will not only lose the foundation of development, but will also endanger national industrial security. Strengthening core technology research is a historical admonition, and it is an inevitable choice for China to accelerate towards a manufacturing powerhouse.
