Pakistan approved Rs 2890 crore highway and highway project

On July 16, the National Economic Commission of Pakistan approved four projects with a total value of Rs 2890 crore for the construction of national highways in different areas of Pakistan.

The National Economic Council meeting, chaired by Dr Abdul Hafez Sheikh, the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Finance and Revenue, approved these projects, including the construction of the 306-kilometer Hyderabasuk Highway at a cost of Rs 165.679 billion and a cost of 77.907 billion The Rupee construction of the Khyber Pass (KPEC) project of 47.55 kilometers, the construction of the Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar section of the M-8 project of 146 kilometers, and the acquisition of Swat Expressway Phase 2 at a cost of Rs 20 crore.

Hyderabad-Sukkur Highway Project

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the Hyderabad-Sukkur highway project will be completed on the basis of the construction operation transfer (BOT), and it is envisaged to construct a 306-kilometer, 6-lane, traffic-controlled highway.

The expressway is proposed as a high-speed toll road facility for efficient and safe transportation, starting in Hyderabad (end of Karachi-Hyderabad M-9) and ending in the Naro Canal (Sukkur-Sudan highway M-5 Starting point). The project was approved by Jamshoro, Tando Adam, Hara, Shahdadpur, Navabshah, Moro, Metropolis, Nowshahro Ferroz, Mehrapur, Rasolpur , Lara Cana, Kelpur and Sukkur.

Khyber Pass Economic Corridor Project

The Khyber Pass Economic Corridor project consists of two parts, including the construction of the Peshawar-Torhan Highway and the connecting highway (N-55) to the Badabher Highway, at the N-5 intersection between Chamkani and Jhagra (55 Km). The project plans to build a 47.55 km long, four-lane wide, two-lane high-speed access-controlled highway from Peshawar to Tokham.

The Peshawar Tolhan Highway is part of the Peshawar-Jalalabad-Kabul Highway project. The scope of the project also includes the construction of bridges, overpasses, overpasses, subways, underground passages, box culverts, cattle climbing, road furniture, drainage works, retaining walls and related facilities.

Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar section of M-8 project

The Hoshab-awaran-khuzdar section of the M-8 project plans to construct a 146-kilometer highway from Hoshab to Awarn. Under the administrative control of the C&W department of the Balochistan Provincial Government, there is a mobile track from Hoshab to Awaran. When determining the route, mainly follow the existing route.

The project's roads depart from Khoshab, pass Qila Darwesh, Ashal, Dandar, Sahar Kalat, Gorari, Laljan, Duddar, Razai, Nurdin, Madak, Malar, Labach Dargo, and finally terminate in Awaran. The scope of the project also includes the relocation of public utilities and the purchase of 29,200 canals of land with a 100m right of way (ROW).

Swat Highway Phase II Project

The second phase of the Swat Highway plans to acquire 10,000 Kanal of land for the construction of a 04-lane highway with a length of 79.69 kilometers from Chakdara to Fatehpur as the second phase of the Swat Highway. The expressway is proposed as a high-speed toll road facility for efficient and safe transportation. The statement added that the proposed right of way for the expressway is 50m. Editor/Huang Lijun
