Recently, according to the Guangxi Department of Transportation, the Hepu-Zhanjiang high-speed railway will start construction in December 2020.

The Hepu-Zhanjiang Railway is located in the southern coastal area at the junction of Hepu, Guangxi and Guangdong Province. The line starts from Hepu County, Beihai City in the west, passes through Pingyang Town, Fucheng Town, Zhakou Town, Baisha Town, and Shankou Town to the east and enters Qingping Town, Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province. He Hengshan Town is introduced into Zhanjiang Hub from the north side of Suixi County.

The main line of the project is 142 kilometers long, of which the Guangxi section is 63.62 kilometers and the land area is 4,025 mu. The estimated total investment of the project is 21 billion yuan (the total investment of the Guangxi section is 10.8 billion yuan). The railway grade is a high-speed railway, the number of main lines is double, and the target speed is 350 km/h, which will be completed in July 2024.

After the completion of the high-speed rail project, it will only take 30 minutes from Beihai to Zhanjiang, and only 2.5 hours to Guangzhou, which effectively strengthens inter-regional links and promotes the economic and social development of surrounding areas. Editor/He Yuting
