On August 4, seetao.net learned from the official website of the National Development and Reform Commission that the National Development and Reform Commission recently issued the "Approval on the Construction Plan of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intercity Railway", agreeing to orderly implement a batch of cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. International railway project to improve the quality of intercity transportation supply in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and serve the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The approved opinions show that the railway network in the Greater Bay Area will reach 4,700 kilometers in operation and under construction by 2025, covering the central and node cities of the Greater Bay Area and key metropolitan areas such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen; in the long term, the Greater Bay Area The district railway network has a mileage of 5,700 kilometers in operation and under construction, covering 100% of cities above the county level.

In terms of short-term construction arrangements, 13 intercity railways and 5 hub projects are planned to be constructed with a total mileage of approximately 775 kilometers, forming an intercity railway network with strengthened main axis, regional coverage and hub connections. Among them, six intercity railway projects including the Shenzhen Airport to Daya Bay Intercity Shenzhen Airport to Pingshan Section, the Guangqing Intercity North Extension Line, and the Guangzhou East Railway Station renovation project will be launched before 2022. The planned construction mileage is 337 kilometers. After the relevant construction conditions are implemented, seven intercity railway projects from Tangxia to Longgang and Changping to Longhua, and two hub projects including the Guangzhou Station Reconstruction Project will be implemented in an orderly manner, with a planned construction length of 438 kilometers.

According to the approval, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's intercity railway, high-speed railway, and trunk railway are interconnected through hub transfers, and are connected with metropolitan (suburban) railways and urban rail transit at hub stations. The main stations of the Guangzhou hub are connected with the urban rail transit through the intercity railway ring line, and the stations in the remaining hubs are connected by urban rail transit.

In terms of the connection plan with Hong Kong and Macau ports, Shenzhen and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region have recently achieved interconnection through the existing Beijing-Kowloon Railway and Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed rail. Zhuhai City and the Macao Special Administrative Region will realize the connection of high-speed rail, intercity railway and Macau light rail at Zhuhai Station and Hengqin Station, plan the connection between each port and the intercity rail station, and support the Guangdong-Macao New Passage (Qingmao Port) connection The channel is connected with the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway in Zhuhai Station, promoting Macao's integration into the national railway network.

According to reports, the total investment in recent construction projects is about 474.1 billion yuan, and the capital ratio is 50%, totaling 237.1 billion yuan. Guangdong Province and the places along the project will use financial funds to invest and actively attract social capital to participate in accordance with market principles. Funds other than capital are resolved through bank loans, etc.
