Since the implementation of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region’s mining breakthrough strategic action in 2011, a total of 31.197 billion yuan has been invested in exploration, and major breakthroughs have been made in basic geological surveys, important mineral exploration, prospecting for old mines, scientific and technological support, and mineral resources conservation and comprehensive utilization. Coal, copper, lead-zinc, tin, gold, silver, and crystalline graphite have fully completed or exceeded the ten-year target, and newly discovered Shuangjianzishan silver polymetallic deposit, Zalage'am copper deposit, and Caosiyao molybdenum deposit , Fuxingtun silver polymetallic deposit and other 112 large and medium-sized mineral deposits; completed the establishment of 10-15 national key mineral exploration areas for iron, copper, lead, zinc, and gold; outstanding achievements in the exploration of strategic emerging minerals 7 newly discovered large and super large uranium deposits, as well as super large crystalline graphite deposits, etc. The identified resource reserves of crystalline graphite increased by about 10 times; the investigation and evaluation of "three rare" minerals was carried out and Zhaojinggou was discovered. New progress has been made in clean energy surveys. The survey and evaluation of shale gas and shallow geothermal energy have filled the gaps in the autonomous region. For the first time, shale gas has been discovered in Ordos City.
