Bridges play a pivotal role in people’s lives. In modern times, bridges are also divided into many types, such as sea-crossing bridges, overpasses, etc. It not only allows us to reach the far side more easily, and saves a lot of time. , And also reduces the traffic pressure in the city. In our country, many bridges have been built since ancient times, and many of them are still intact.

The ancient bridge I will introduce to you today was built in the Song Dynasty. It is one of the four famous ancient bridges. Unlike other ancient bridges, the other bridges are built on the river, but this bridge is built on the sea. , Can be described as China's first cross-sea bridge. Having said that, everyone should know which bridge it is.

It is the Luoyang Bridge. Although the name carries Luoyang, the bridge is not there. Luoyang Bridge is a group of Luoyang people who migrated south in the Song Dynasty. After arriving in Quanzhou, Fujian, in order to cherish the memory of their hometown, they built a small town named Luoyang. In the town, the nearby river is also called Luoyang River, so the name of the bridge is naturally Luoyang Bridge.

This bridge also has a name called Wan'an Bridge. People at that time prayed for a smooth ferry crossing the river, so they took this auspicious name. The completion of this bridge greatly facilitated people's travel at that time. Moreover, the confluence of the river and the sea here can be described as turbulent water. The reason why this bridge is so stable is mainly due to the raft-shaped foundation pioneered by the Song Dynasty. On both sides of the bridge, long stones with pointed ends are used as bridge piers. The design can reduce the impact of water waves, and it looks pretty.

Of course, the Luoyang Bridge is so stable that it is not entirely dependent on the piers. The locals also specialize in cultivating oysters on the piers. Friends who live by the sea should know that the adhesion of oysters is very strong, and the reproduction ability is also very strong. The little guys stuck together and couldn't dig it down with a shovel. The ancients were really very smart, and they could even think of this way to strengthen the piers.

The design of this bridge is really ingenious, and people have to sigh that human wisdom is invincible, and it is with so many fantastic ideas that Luoyang Bridge can survive for thousands of years.

Do you guys feel proud of the ancients? Editor/He Yuting
