On September 7, 2020, China Communications Construction announced that a world-class project is about to open to traffic. The construction of the Jin'an Jinsha River Bridge with the participation of the China Communications Second Aviation Administration has been basically completed, marking the upcoming opening to traffic.

According to reports, the Jinan Jinsha River Bridge has created the highest in the four worlds, including the mountain suspension bridge with the largest span, the smallest bridge width-to-span ratio, the largest bridge cable suspension span, and the first full bridge using U-rib full penetration welding technology. .

The Jinan Jinsha River Bridge has a span of 1,386 meters and a total investment of 1.8 billion yuan. It is a controlled project of the Huali Expressway. The bridge spans the Jinsha River and is located in the "three high areas" with high altitude, large elevation differences and high seismic intensity, and the construction site environment is harsh. The heights of the pylons on both sides of the bridge are 186 meters and 222 meters respectively, and the distance between the bridge deck and the Jinsha River is 335 meters, which is a high safety risk; the bridge superstructure construction process is frequently changed, and the main cable erection, steel truss and bridge deck hoisting technology are difficult.

Thanks to the efforts of the construction side, the Jinan Jinsha River Bridge became the latest to start construction and the earliest closure among the four suspension bridges under construction in Yunnan.

It is understood that the typical domestic suspension bridges in mountainous areas include the Tengchong Longjiang Bridge with a main span of 1196 meters, and the Chishui River Red Army Bridge with a main span of 1,200 meters built by Sichuan and Guizhou provinces.

Huali Expressway is one of the key construction projects of the Belt and Road Initiative, and an important part of the national expressway network G42 Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway to Lijiang Link (G4216). The Huaping Expressway project starts in Huaping County, Lijiang, passes through Yongsheng County and Gucheng District in Lijiang, and ends in Yulong County. It is the only east-west expressway in southwest Sichuan and northwest Yunnan, with a total length of 151 kilometers. After the opening of the Huali Expressway at the end of this year, the journey from Lijiang, Yunnan to Panzhihua, Sichuan will be shortened from 6 hours to 2 hours.

After the suspension bridge is opened to traffic, it will lay a good foundation for the early completion and opening of the whole line, showing the wisdom of the builders.
