On September 8, 2020, as the shield machine cutter head broke through the last barrier, Taizhou City Railway S1 line ushered in a major node since the start of construction-the first shield tunnel to pass through.
The shield tunnel that was the first to penetrate this time is located in the 13th civil construction zone of the first phase of the S1 line. It is the right line of the shield section between Wenling Stadium Station and Chengnan Station, with a total length of 861 meters. On March 30 this year, after more than a month of assembly and testing, the super-large diameter shield machine was officially launched, becoming the first shield machine for downhole operations in Taizhou.
The so-called shield construction method is a tunnel construction method in which a shield machine is used to excavate underground, and under the protection of a shield, the excavation, slag discharge and segment lining operations are carried out safely, thereby forming the tunnel at one time. This is a relatively advanced construction technology adopted in the operation of urban rail transit in my country.
The construction of the shield section between Wenling Stadium Station and Chengnan Station is mostly silt. The manual excavation is difficult and low in efficiency. Shield construction can greatly improve efficiency. The shield machine is a pure underground construction. It is expected to dig in the direction of Chengnan Station at 10-12 meters per day, which can improve the excavation efficiency and safety factor without affecting road traffic and effectively speed up the construction progress.
Zhu Chunbai, the project manager of the general contracting department of Suzhou CRRC Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., the contractor of the S1 line of the municipal railway, said that the shield tunnel between Wenling Stadium Station and Chengnan Station has achieved high quality and high standards smoothly, marking the construction of S1 line A major breakthrough was made, and the Shield Construction Charge was sounded across the board.
It is understood that there will be 12 shield machines for excavation when the S1 line is at its maximum. This year, the S1 line of the municipal railway will complete 50% of the shield machine engineering of the entire line, and all shield engineering will be completed in the first half of next year.
