Recently, the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission approved the feasibility study report of rail transit line 28 (CBD line). It is reported that the project has been included in the key project plan of the Beijing Municipal Government in 2020 and is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in 2025.
Metro Line 28 is planned to cross the CBD area diagonally, starting from Dongdaqiao Station in the west to Guangqudong Road Station in the east, with a total length of 8.9 kilometers and 9 stations, connecting most of the main office areas, urban residential areas and key points in the CBD area Functional area.
According to the person in charge, although there are not many stations on Line 28, there are many transfer points. In the future, it will be connected to multiple urban rail transit lines through 5 interchange stations.

In addition, the project adds a rail transit line to Beijing East Railway Station, realizing multi-line transfers with the city's sub-center line, two suburban railway lines of the Northeast Ring Line, and the National Railway Beijing-Harbin Line. It is worth mentioning that the 2.2 km route from Dongdaqiao Station to Jingguangqiao Station of Metro Line 22 (Pinggu Line) will be included in the project and implemented simultaneously.
After the completion of the Beijing Metro Line 28 (CBD line) project, it will effectively alleviate the existing traffic pressure in the CBD area, further strengthen the rail transit network structure, and actively promote the intensive, efficient and integrated development of rail transit and urban space.
