According to reports, the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan and the Eurasian Development Bank signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation. EABR provides financing for related projects of the Ministry of Health, including assisting the Ministry of Health to improve the construction of medical and health infrastructure.
The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Health Alexander Choi and the Chairman of the EABR Board of Directors Nikolai Podguzov during the online meeting held on the same day. The cooperative relationship between the two parties is established on the basis of the development of long-term, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation. The two sides will cooperate in many areas, including assisting in financing the medical infrastructure renovation project of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, expanding private sector participation through the promotion of the PPP model, and establishing a preparatory mechanism for the project.
Kazakhstan Health Minister Alexei Cui stated that according to the President’s State of the Union Address and the National Medical and Health Development Plan 2020-2024, the Ministry of Health will update the medical and health infrastructure and cooperate with the Eurasian Development Bank in this regard. The President of the Eurasian Development Bank Podguzovpo said that the bank intends to participate in and use international financial tools to assist in the implementation of projects and to assist in the search for medical equipment suppliers, contractors, and private partners.
