On the morning of September 28, 2020, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Huangshi Modern Tram Project was held at the foot of the Golden Mountain and by the Daye Lake. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Wu Jin, Mayor of Huangshi Municipal People’s Government presided over the ceremony. Dong Weimin, Secretary of the CPC Huangshi Municipal Committee, Hu Chuping, Deputy Mayor of Huangshi Municipal People’s Government, Pan Xianzhang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Huangshi City Development Group, and China Railway Shanghai Engineering Group Co., Ltd. Party Secretary Liang Yongxing delivered speeches one after another. Then Dong Weimin, secretary of the Huangshi Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, announced the official start of the project.

The first phase of the Huangshi Modern Tram Project has a total length of 26.88 kilometers, with 1 vehicle base and 30 stations (including 1 reserved station) on the entire line. The estimated total investment of the project is 4.573 billion yuan. It is expected that the entire line will be opened by the end of 2022.

The route starts at the Shenjiaying intersection of Huangshi Avenue and passes through Cihu Road, Guihu Road (College of Technology-Huangshi North Station), Daquan Road, Suzhou Road, Guilin South Road, Yanhu Road, Hujiawan Road, Baihua Tunnel, Baihua Road, Olympic Stadium Avenue, Tiyu West Road, Yuanbo Avenue, Zongsan Road, Jingsi Road, and Kuangbo North Road, finally on the west side of the Mine Museum.

The line connects Huangshi Port, Tuancheng Mountain, Cihu South Development Zone and Daye Lake core area, transportation hubs such as Huangshi High-speed Railway Station and Huangshi Passenger Transport Station, Hubei Normal University and Hubei Institute of Technology, Wanda Plaza, and unexpectedly. Commercial complexes such as Jiahe Hongtai Plaza are seamlessly connected with the industrial tourist train.

The Huangshi modern tram line crosses the Cihu Lake and Huangjing Mountain. It is a characteristic sightseeing line. The line connects the old and new urban areas from east to west and north to south, and connects Daye City to build the city’s first backbone bus corridor. , It can be extended to SF Airport and Huangshi New Port in the long term.
