The Senegambia Bridge, also known as the Trans-Gambia Bridge, is a bridge in Gambia that carries the Trans-Gambia highway connecting the northern and southern Gambia. It can also visit the remote province of Casamance from other parts of Senegal. It was proposed in 1956 to build a bridge at this location, but due to political considerations, the construction finally started in 2015. Funding for the building came mainly from a US$65 million loan from the African Development Bank, while the rest came from the government of Gambia. A joint venture between the Spanish company Isolux Corsán and the Senegalese carried out construction works.Editor/Luo Wentao
