At 9 a.m. on November 3, 2020, 55,571 test EMUs slowly drove out of Xi'an North Station to test the parameters of the operation diagram for the section from Xi'an North to Qingyang, which marked the formal entry of the Xi'an-Yindu high-speed rail into the trial operation stage. On the same day, the Gan-Ning section of the West Bank high-speed railway also entered the trial operation phase simultaneously.

The construction of the Xi-Yin high-speed railway started at the end of 2015, with a total length of 618 kilometers, of which the Shaanxi section is 193 kilometers in length and the Ganning section is 425 kilometers in length. The design speed is 250 km/h, and 350 km/h is reserved for ballast high-speed rail speed increase conditions. The construction period is 5 years, and there are 20 stations on the whole line, which are expected to be put into operation by the end of 2020.

There are Yinchuan, Hedong Airport, Lingwu North, Wuzhong, Huianbao, Tianshuibao, Huanxian, Quzi, Qingcheng, Qingyang, Ningxian, Binzhou East, Yongshouxi, Qianxian, Liquan South, Xianyang 17 passenger stations in North and Xi'an.

According to reports, during the trial operation period, the main three stages are through the parameter test of the train diagram, the failure simulation and emergency rescue drill, and the driving test according to the diagram, to verify the adaptability of the transportation organization of each system under normal and abnormal conditions, and to verify the operation organization method Whether it can meet the requirements of full-map operation, test equipment failure and emergency handling capabilities under natural disaster conditions, and provide technical basis for perfecting scientific and reasonable transportation organization plans.

The Xiyin High-speed Railway is an important part of the eight-longitudinal-eight-horizontal high-speed rail network (silver) sea channel in the national medium and long-term railway network plan. It crosses the edge of the Mu Us Desert and the largest loess plateau in the world, Dong Zhiyuan. It is China’s first construction on the loess plateau. The longest section of the ballast high-speed railway is also the longest ballast high-speed railway with the longest mileage of the railway under construction in China. After opening to traffic, the train ride from Xi'an to Yinchuan will be shortened from the current 14 hours to about 3 hours, which will provide great convenience for people to travel.
