The China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline project is an international cooperation project jointly funded and constructed by the six parties of China, Myanmar, South Korea and India. The completion of the China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline project solved the problems in the downstream market of Myanmar’s natural gas and realized foreign exchange earning through exports. At the same time, it brought Myanmar considerable economic benefits including national taxes, 30-year investment dividends, right of way fees, and training funds. The China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline project has contributed a total of US$209.75 million in direct economic benefits to Myanmar. The project employs more than 2.9 million people in total, and more than 6000 local workers were employed during the peak period of construction.Editor/Luo Wentao
