On November 5, 2020, after 100 days of fierce battle, the north side station building of Mudanjiang Station, which was built by the 22nd Bureau of China Railway, was completed. After the completion of the station building on the north side of Mudanjiang Station, it will realize the function of a large-scale comprehensive transportation hub integrating rail transit, highway passenger transportation, public transportation and other station facilities, and formally connect to the Hamu high-speed rail and the northernmost high-cold high-speed rail under construction in my country. .

Mudanjiang Comprehensive Transportation Hub is the first modern comprehensive transportation hub project of China's northernmost high-cold high-speed railway and one of the top 100 projects in Heilongjiang Province. With a total length of 371.6 kilometers, it is the longest high-speed railway line under construction in Heilongjiang Province with a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. Construction started in November 2016. The line starts at Mudanjiang, passes through Linkou, Jixi, Qitaihe, Huanan, Shuangyashan, and ends at Jiamusi.

The comprehensive transportation hub project has a building area of 9670 square meters and a building height of 36.6 meters. As a supplementary part of the Mudanjiang Station South Station Building, it will be connected to the South Station Waiting Hall after it is put into use, and the original station building will be expanded by 33%. The comprehensive transportation hub adopts a layout of one underground and three floors above ground. The railway ticket office, entry and exit halls, underground exit passages, and road passenger transportation facilities are set up inside. The station square, underground commercial street, underground social vehicles and Taxi parking lot, etc., can realize the "one-stop" transfer between railways, buses, taxis, and social vehicles, for passengers to travel to and from the surrounding cities, counties and towns such as Mudanjiang, Hailin, Linkou, Muling, Ning'an, and Tokyo. Provide convenient travel conditions, and provide a better travel experience for the majority of tourists to travel to the eastern part of Heilongjiang.

The project has now entered the construction link of cable tray, plumbing pipeline laying, etc., and it is planned to be put into use in 2021. After the completion of the project, Mudanjiang will fully enter the "one-hour, two-hour" economic circle with Harbin as the center, further promoting the coordinated development of regional economy and society.

Mudanjiang Station serves as the connecting transit station of Suifenhe, the largest land port in Heilongjiang Province to Russia.
