The Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway (Anhui Section) starts from the border of Jiangsu and Anhui on the south side of Jinhu Station, passes through Tongcheng Town, Yangcun Town, Tianchang City and Zhengji Town to the south to the provincial border of Anhui and Jiangsu. The total length is 43.9 kilometers, all of which are overhead lines, and the new Tianchang Station (2 sets of 6 lines, and the planned introduction of the Chutianyang Intercity Railway is reserved). Adopting the technical standards of double-track high-speed railway, the designed driving speed is 350 km/h, the construction period is four years, and the total investment is 8.48 billion yuan.
On November 2, 2020, Jiangsu Ninghuai Intercity Railway Co., Ltd. issued the "Announcement on the Tendering of the Nanjing Section of Ninghuai Intercity Railway" It is about 61.9km long. At present, the preliminary design of the Nanjing section has not yet been approved. The Liuhe West and Nanjing North Stations are combined with the Beiyanjiang High-speed Railway. The implementation subject is not yet clear.
It is understood that since the start of the Ninghuai Intercity Railway, the progress of the Nanjing and Anhui sections has been slow due to the inter-provincial and high-speed rail linking with the North Yanjiang, the Nanjing hub and the Shangyuanmen cross-river passage plan.
Among them, the Huai'an pilot section has officially started construction in September 2019, and the preliminary design has been approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission on October 10, 2020. The construction drawings of the station front project have been reviewed, and construction will start in 2020.
The Ninghuai Intercity Railway is the first 350km/h high-speed railway to be fully invested in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. After it is completed and put into operation, it will be interconnected with the Xuyan high-speed railway, which has been opened to traffic, and the Lianzhen high-speed railway, which will be opened to traffic at the end of 2020. North Lianyungang, Huai'an, Yancheng, Suqian and other cities have direct access to Nanjing's fastest and most convenient high-speed rail travel channel.
